E. Randal Johnson AIA
Raised in the Pacific Northwest and formally trained at the University of Oregon, Randy Johnson believes in the interaction between architecture and landscape. He expresses this design philosophy through a keen understanding of scale and proportions, focusing on massing, details, and materials to create experiential spaces.
While Randy leads the design on most projects in the Denver studio as Principal and Senior Designer, his style is nonetheless that of a team player. He changes architectural roles as required to build and bond teams together in their most productive and creative form. His appreciation for details always contributes to the richness of 4240's projects. Randy's intricate light sconces, fire place screens and ornate gates, often rendered in hand-drawn ink sketches, connect the architecture to heart and soul. Consistently, through his management and design approaches, the result is an architecture of high quality.
Randy served on the AIA Denver Board of Directors for the 2006-2008 term. He also co-chaired the 2002 AIA Colorado Design Conference.
Bachelor of Architecture, University of Oregon, 1981
